Autumn in South Tyrol: what is not to be missed

When spending your autumn holiday with us on the Singerhof in St. Valentin / Kastelruth, you have the opportunity to take part in the famous South Tyrolean Törggelen, a convivial traditional gathering after the grape harvest which includes tasting the new wine and eating typical farmers’ dishes. In Kastelruth the Buschenschank (traditional wine tavern) serves not only its outstanding Müller Thurgau wine but also other specialties like bacon dumplings, venison goulash, Schlutzkrapfen (pasta parcels) or buckwheat cake and the famous roasted chestnuts. Another opportunity to witness the living customs is the annual ceremonial driving down of cattle from the Seiser Alm into the valley, where you can see decorated cows and mingle and celebrate with the locals. A further highlight is the Kastelruther Spatzenfest (alpine folk music) in October.
